At BioPlaster, we transform an environmental crisis—Caribbean sargassum overgrowth—into certified compostable biomaterials that replace single-use plastics. Using a proprietary biorefinery process, we extract valuable compounds from invasive sargassum (such as alginate and cellulose) and formulate them into biodegradable films, bags, foams, and threads. These materials are designed to match the functionality of petroleum-based plastics, but with dramatically lower carbon and water footprints.
