Eco Nasi is at the forefront of innovative biomaterial development by leveraging the regenerative properties of pineapple pulp waste to produce a sustainable, high-quality leather alternative. Our scientific approach integrates advanced bio-manufacturing techniques, where cellulose derived from pineapple waste serves as the primary substrate for microbial fermentation. Specific bacterial strains, known for their ability to synthesize nanocellulose, are employed in a controlled fermentation process. This fermentation not only transforms the cellulose into a dense and flexible biomaterial but also introduces natural pigmentation capabilities, resulting in a self-pigmenting material. Our vegan leather alternative is designed to be five times more durable than hide leather while using fewer resources and actually regenerating nature.
